Pedas	A Malay word without an English translation. It's usually translated as “spicy”, but that's just plain wrong. It's also translated as “hot”, which OED finds better: “having a taste or smell characterized by a burning sensation; pungently spicy; ”, It's the “hot” of chilis and pepper.
