In Australia, it seems that the standard “metric” weight for a Camembert cheese is 115 g. Any resemblance to 4 Imperial ounces is doubtless purely coincidental.
For 4 servings:
| quantity | ingredient | step | ||
| 4 | camembert cheeses, about 100g | 1 | ||
| 4 | slices bread, for toast | 1 | ||
| breadcrumbs | 1 | |||
| flour | 1 | |||
| egg yolk for batter | 1 | |||
| cranberry jelly | 1 | |||
| salad | 1 |
Beat the egg yolk and coat the cheeses with it, then dust with flour and breadcrumbs. Allow to settle, then repeat.
Deep fry at 175° for about 2 minutes. Serve with toasted bread, salad and cranberry jelly.
