This is one of many pages describing plants and animal life that we have in our garden. In many cases, we don't know what they are. Comments welcome.

We live next to a nature reserve, the “Dereel lagoon”, often called “swamp”. In fact, in our experience it's neither; it's a rather dry wetlands, and a number of animals live in it. It's probably also the reason we have so many birds. For some reasons, Kookaburras love to sit on power cables:
