These are the flowers we had in the garden in mid-autumn 2025, taken mainly on 22 April 2022. They're not all overly pretty, but the purpose of the photos is to record what was in the garden at the time.
I'm still wondering why I do this. Things are deteriorating to the point that it's uninteresting. But that's what I said of my diary in 1970 before I stopped keeping it, something that I now profoundly regret. So here it is, interesting or not.
As I said last month, there's really very little positive to report. Things are dying for no obvious reason. Yvonne bought some herbs and lovingly planted them in the herb garden, where they just died:

That's particularly frustrating with the dill. To the right of the dying plant is a self-sown one looking quite happy.
Why does this happen? I had a similar experience with the petunias and viola tricolor that I bought last October. And they're not the only deaths. Our long-suffering Ginkgo biloba seems to have died, though I'll give it until spring:

But that's not much to show for 11 years.
And I suppose I should give up on my coddled Clematis “Edo Murasaki” and the maple “Chantilly lace” (in the pot):

Is there anything positive? Maybe the variegated Aloe pup that was trying to cross the fence under one of the almost-dead Hebes that Jesse Walsh trimmed back:
