Monthly garden flower photos
Groogle

These are the flowers we had in the garden in mid-spring 2015, mainly on 17 October 2015, though this month they're stretched a little. They're not all overly pretty, but the purpose of the photos is to record what was in the garden at the time.

The winter was one of the coldest on records, and subsequently there was a long hot spell. As a result, the garden looks about as bad as it ever has.

One exception are the wildflowers that I had noticed last year, and which I have mainly been able to identify. This is without doubt a Burchardia umbellata:

And this is a species of Drosera, now flowering:

But there are still flowers that don't appear in my clever books:

The other group of flowers that seem to be particularly happy are the roses, all of them transplanted just a few months ago.

All of them also have a surprising number of buds.

The Dicksonia antarctica is also unfolding its fronds:

And finally the somewhat mistreated Camellia japonica had produced its first, barely recognizable flower:

That should be a lot better when we finally decide where to plant it.

And of course the Gazanias are surviving well, even after having been run over by Warrick's Kumatsu yesterday:
