These are the flowers we had in the garden in late autumn 2012, mainly on 14 May 2012. They're not all overly pretty, but the purpose of the photos is to record what was in the garden at the time.
This page shows most, but not all, of the flower photos I took: some were repetitive. They're all there on the photo pages around 14 May.
Autumn is coming to an end, and this year things like the ornamental vine make it particularly colourful:
On the other hand, a number of summer-flowering plants are still doing well, notably the plants I got from the Friends of the Ballarat Botanical Gardens in early November last year:

A while back I noticed that a number of plants weren't flowering as well as in the previous year, notably roses and the Alyogyne huegelii. At the time I suspected insufficient water, but I gave them liberal doses of fertilizer, and they appear to have come good. The „Gruß an Aachen“ rose is currently not flowering, but it has done so, and “Monsieur Tillier” is flowering. Even a climbing rose that we inherited when we moved in, and which we planted in front of the garage, is flowering. It hasn't done that for a long time. It's all still not much, but next year things could be a lot better:

We've put the potted Hibiscus rosa-sinensis and the Mandevilla into the greenhouse for the winter, and both are still looking happy, particularly the Mandevilla. I think the Hibiscus was another plant that wasn't getting enough fertilizer, and it's just now coming with a few late buds, but it's looking so much happier than last year (last image):

Another lot of plants that might benefit from fertilizer are the Hebes, which have been flowering sporadically all summer, but most of the time not very much:

On the other hand, the first signs of winter are showing. Most of the Acacias have buds, and one is flowering. And of course the Cyclamens are flowering—some have been doing so continuously since December. I had never noticed their scent before:

The first signs of spring are also showing. The Azaleas and the Snowflakes are coming into flower, and so are the Vinca minor:

The Cymbidium that got damaged last month is now starting to flower, much earlier than last year:

The Correa reflexa that I planted in the north part of the east bed is still not looking happy, but at least it has started to flower:

Hopefully it'll pick up in the spring.
