In mid-December 1998, Christiane Yeardley brought Miss Teak and Magia Negra back to us from Maryborough. Amongst other things, Chris had broken Miss Teak in. In addition, we had a visit from Wijanda. Here are some photos taken before we went riding in Kuitpo Forest together:

Chris was riding Miss Teak (above). This was the first time Miss Teak had been out riding with other horses.

I was riding Darah, who is usually much more gentle than Miss Teak. They didn't know each other, however, and Darah aimed a couple of kicks at Miss Teak while we were in the forest. Nobody's looking too happy in these pictures.

In January we had a storm one night, and went out to put the horses in the stable. I got some hay for them, dressed in my dressing gown, and the pile of hay fell apart. This is the result.

As of February 1999, I'm still trying to get Miss Teak to ride the way I want, and not the way she wants. She's not nasty, but it'll take a while.
Alas, that was not to be. In December 2000 she broke a leg and had to be shot. If you can bear to see it, there are photos.
