The following photo shows the four kinds of bottles I have used for bottling beer. It's reduced in size; to see the original, click on it with the mouse.

• Australian 375 ml non-reusable bottle. Most bottled beer sold in South Australia uses these bottles. They have a screw thread, which makes them a little more difficult to cap than the other bottles in this illustration. This one is from Coopers and weighs 190 g.
• German non-reusable bottle, 500 ml. I have had a few of these. They're very light (225 g), and one exploded on me for inexplicable reasons. I've since been told that they're specially lined on the inside to stabilize them for their one use, and cleaning them removes this lining, making them unstable. I don't intend to use them again.
• German re-usable 500 ml bottle. Weight 370 g.
• Australian 750 ml re-usable bottle, the so-called “King Brown”. Weight 570 g.
