This page contains screen shots taken of my desktop environment on Thursday, 8 September 2005.

The photos on this page are reduced in size by 75%; the different sizes reflect the resolution of each screen. To see the shots in original size, click on the photo in question with the mouse.

foo

flame:0.0, 1152x900. I don't use this machine much, because it's too slow, and the monitor is usually powered off.

foo

wantadilla:0.0. This is at 2048x1536, and I use it mainly for web browsing. It's also excellent for showing up badly designed web pages.

foo

wantadilla:0.1, 1600x1200. This is the screen I use most. On the left is a mutt display, and on the right I run various editors. The one on display is a list of network block from which I refuse mail.

foo

echunga:0.0, 1920x1440. I use this one mainly for editing and for transient work. The display on the right is another mutt instance showing my backup folder, in which I save all mail, even the spam that gets through. This has proven to be a godsend when I accidentally delete something.

foo

echunga:0.1, 1600x1200. I use this mainly for IRC.

foo

echunga:0.2, 1280x1024. This runs on a monitor that was built in 1989, a sad reminder that Moore's law does not apply to display resolution. I use it for monitoring the system and the network.
