Returned items to ALDI, 18 August 2011 Teppanyaki grill 1 This device made loud cracking noises when being turned on for the first time according to the instructions. After it had cooled down, I noticed significant bulging in the cooking surface and considered it unsafe for operation. Teppanyaki grill 2 This device also deformed after first use, but didn't make the cracking noises. But the thermostat is so vague that it was impossible to cook meat on it. Even turned up fully, it would cool down for up to a minute, making the meat ooze juices and become tough. Garden hose This hose does not extend the 15 m advertised: that would destroy it. The thin diameter of the tube means that it doesn't have an adequate flow rate, the coils get tangled in each other, making it less convenient than an ordinary hose. The sprayer is very poor, much worse than the other two I have bought from ALDI. GPS navigator I already have an ALDI navigator, but the maps are out of date and very inaccurate. I bought this one because it was cheaper than the map updates from Naviextras. Unfortunately, though the maps are newer, they are even less accurate. My street in Dereel, Kleins Road, is not mentioned, nor Camms Road, that of a friend, but the mapmakers have invented streets that don't exist, such as Boyd Road and Russell St, which go through paddocks. Also the town of Enfield is shown 2 km north of where it is really located. Set-top box I bought this because I was told my TV reception problems were due to my old equipment. The new set-top box brought no improvement, so probably the problems are with the antenna. This device is probably completely adequate, and I'm returning it according to the returns policy.
