It's really simple to make. I'll also enclose my standard fruit salad I make. Jello Salad ----------- 1 large box of lime Jello 1 small jar of maraschino cherries 1 medium can of crushed pineapple (drained) 1 cup of chopped pecans 1 cup grated cheddar cheese (yes cheese, I know it sounds weird but it tastes great) 1 small carton cool whip 40 large marshmellows Prepare jello according to directions, using all hot water instead of one hot and one cold. After jello has dissolved, keep on heat and melt 40 large marshmellows in jello. Put in refrigerator and let set. After jello has set, use electric mixer and whip til creamy. Add the rest of the ingredients and chill till ready to serve. I also like to serve this at holidays. It has become pretty much standard fare along with turkey and dressing and ham. Fruit Salad ----------- I'm not sure how many people you are serving, so amounts will depend on people. I'll put the amounts I use for a gathering of about 10. bananas (small chunks) 2 - 4 maraschino cherries, (drained and halved) medium jar pineapple chunks (drained) large can mandarin oranges (canned, drained) 2 cans grapes (seedless, halved) 1 small bunch coconut small bag 1 carton of sour cream (small) Mix and chill til ready to serve. Hope this helps. Even if you don't use this for the barbecue, I hope you'll try them sometime, especially the jello salad. Have a nice day! I varied it according to my tastes (ie: used peaches instead of pears, 8oz. apricot halves instead of 16oz., and I can't remember whether I deleted the brown sugar or not, but with all these natural fruits, extra sugar really isn't necessary .... depends on your preference ..... Hope this helps ..... \ov HOT FRUIT SALAD _______________ 1 16oz. can apricot halves 1 16oz. can pear halves 1 16oz. can pineapple chunks 1 16oz. can wild blueberries (I used frozen) 3 large bananas, sliced 1 16oz. can applesauce 1 16oz. can cranberry sauce Brown sugar Butter Place fruits in colander to drain, blueberries in last.
