These are the flowers we had in the garden in early spring 2017, taken mainly on 16 September 2017. They're not all overly
pretty, but the purpose of the photos is to record what was in the garden at the time.
Things are really not looking good at the moment. The last month has been unseasonally cold
and wet, and not much has come up apart from spring bulbs. The frosts have taken their toll:
The Carpobrotus that we planted
a couple of months ago shouldn't flower until November, but one of them is trying anyway:
And the big brothers, planted in December last year, have really taken off:
I had expected the Senna aciphylla
to have finished flowering by now, but it's still going strong:
On the south side of the house, in the shade,
some Vinca minor have escaped their
pot and are working their way along the wall:
The narcissus have just about
finished flowering, but misguided and
misshapen tulip is already on its way:
Indoors, things are going well. Just by chance I had
more Hibiscus
rosa-sinensis flowers together than I've had in a long time:
And the Phalaenopsis also have more
flowers than I've seen:
